"What is permanent makeup?"

Permanent cosmetic makeup is cosmetic tattooing. The specialized techniques used for permanent cosmetics are often referred to as "micropigmentation", "cosmetic tattoo", "PMU".The cosmetic implantation technique"micropigmentation" deposits colored pigment into the upper reticular layer of the dermis.

"Is permanent makeup similar to tattooing?"

Permanent makeup (PMU and tattooing have many things in common: Both techniques involve the insertion of colour pigments under the skin using a needle. This pigmentation is long-lasting, both for PMU and for tattooing.

However, there are also some differences: Tattoos are made in a deeper layer of the skin than permanent makeup. In PMU, the pigment is found in the upper layer of the dermis, just below the epidermis. Tattoos are often deeper and use Ink instead of pigment. In principle, well-placed tattoos are found in the subcutaneous tissue. The colour pigments are inserted between the fat cells of the skin. Because they are placed in a deeper layer, tattoos stay longer than PMU.

"Is there any discomfort during the procedure?"

Most people experience a little bit of discomfort. This will vary according to each individual pain threshold. a A topical anesthetics is apply on the region prior to each treatment , majority of client would rate de discomfort a 2-3 out of 10, some even fall asleep!

"Can I get a treatment while pregnant?"

"What is the healing time? What type of post-care is involved?"

It's normal to expect some swelling and redness for up to 24 hours after. Swelling around the eyes can be reduced with the use of a cold compress. It is necessary to keep the treated area clean. For several days, no makeup should be worn on the area. We suggest low impact activities such has walking and weight training , sweating will affect your results, the full details for your post care will be explained to you at your appointment and you can find them on this website as well.
